Versetta Stone — Ledgestone

Versetta Stone Ledgestone masters the authentic look of hand-laid stone with glass-fiber-reinforced cement panels that interlock via a tongue-and-groove system. The built-in 1/4" rain screen, embedded G-90 galvanized nail strip, and Class A fire rating (Flame Spread 0) make it one of the most complete stone cladding solutions available — suitable for exterior walls, wainscot, fireplaces, and interior accent walls alike.

Installation Guide

  1. Install panels from bottom to top, lapped shingle fashion. Seat the tongue fully into the groove of each row below — do not force or leave gaps between panels.

  2. Install Starter Strip first at base using roofing nails or Versetta Fasteners every 8–10"; leave 1/32" gap between fastener head and strip flange; lap WRB over the nail flange.

  3. Use 4 mechanical fasteners per panel (panels > 18" long); minimum 2 must penetrate wall framing; position end fasteners within 3" of each panel end; leave 1/32" gap between fastener head and nailing channel.

  4. Stagger vertical joints a minimum of 8" between consecutive rows to avoid continuous seams; mark a level chalk line every 24" as a coursing guide.

  5. Install Universal Corners plumb and level from bottom to top; each panel end provides 8" of height coverage. Panels on adjacent walls must align to the same coursing.

  6. Apply Versetta Stone Finishing Adhesive for partial panels without nail flanges: secure metal flashing or expanded lath every 16" to framing first; apply adhesive dabs (quarter-sized, min. 1/2" tall) every 3–4"; shim during cure.

  7. Maintain minimum clearances: 4" above soil grade, 2" above pavement or concrete surfaces.

  8. For interior applications (fireplaces, accent walls, backsplashes): Versetta Stone meets ASTM E 84 Class A — Flame Spread 0, Smoke Developed 0.

  9. DO NOT use salt, de-icing chemicals, acid washes, metal-bristled brushes, or high-pressure sprayers on installed panels.

  10. Installations above 30 feet require review and approval by a licensed design professional per ESR-2859.
