Versetta Stone Ledgestone is a cement-based manufactured stone veneer system that installs without mortar, metal lath, or scratch coat. Tongue-and-groove interlocking panels click together and fasten mechanically to the wall substrate — a process that lets a single installer work at a pace that's not possible with traditional mortar-set stone. The built-in 1/4" rain screen on the back of each panel provides a drainage gap between the veneer and the wall sheathing, reducing moisture accumulation behind the cladding.

The Ledgestone profile replicates the horizontal layered look of natural split stone — varying thicknesses and irregular lengths assembled into a coursed pattern that reads as organic rather than manufactured. It works for foundation cladding, feature walls, fireplace surrounds, and accent bands on exterior facades. As a cement-based product, it carries the heft and density of real masonry at a fraction of the installed cost per square foot, with no ongoing maintenance.

Compatible Accessories

Installation Guide

  1. Install panels from bottom to top, lapped shingle fashion. Seat the tongue fully into the groove of each row below — do not force or leave gaps between panels.

  2. Install Starter Strip first at base using roofing nails or Versetta Fasteners every 8–10"; leave 1/32" gap between fastener head and strip flange; lap WRB over the nail flange.

  3. Use 4 mechanical fasteners per panel (panels > 18" long); minimum 2 must penetrate wall framing; position end fasteners within 3" of each panel end; leave 1/32" gap between fastener head and nailing channel.

  4. Stagger vertical joints a minimum of 8" between consecutive rows to avoid continuous seams; mark a level chalk line every 24" as a coursing guide.

  5. Install Universal Corners plumb and level from bottom to top; each panel end provides 8" of height coverage. Panels on adjacent walls must align to the same coursing.

  6. Apply Versetta Stone Finishing Adhesive for partial panels without nail flanges: secure metal flashing or expanded lath every 16" to framing first; apply adhesive dabs (quarter-sized, min. 1/2" tall) every 3–4"; shim during cure.

  7. Maintain minimum clearances: 4" above soil grade, 2" above pavement or concrete surfaces.

  8. For interior applications (fireplaces, accent walls, backsplashes): Versetta Stone meets ASTM E 84 Class A — Flame Spread 0, Smoke Developed 0.

  9. DO NOT use salt, de-icing chemicals, acid washes, metal-bristled brushes, or high-pressure sprayers on installed panels.

  10. Installations above 30 feet require review and approval by a licensed design professional per ESR-2859.
