About Mitten Highland 42 Series Vinyl Siding

Next to Oregon Pride, Highland is the heavier panel. Five of its six profiles are .042 in. nominal, against .040 in. for Oregon Pride, and the finish is a satin, low-gloss wood grain rather than a painted cedar texture. It is horizontal only. If you need a vertical panel, Highland does not make one.

The profiles give you three looks. Double 4 in., Double 4.5 in. and Double 5 in. are straight clapboard reveals, from tight to wide. The Double 4.5 in. and Double 5 in. Dutchlap panels are the Dutch lap vinyl siding options, with a groove along the top of each course that adds depth and suits traditional architecture. Triple 3 in. fits three 3.36 in. courses on one panel for a narrower, more detailed reveal, and it is the one profile made at .040 in. Every carton covers 200 sq. ft.

There are 17 colours. The 14 natural standard colours run in all six profiles, except Indigo, which skips the straight Double 4.5 and Double 5. The three bold premium colours, Grenadier Green, Khaki Brown and Rockaway Grey, come in Double 4, both Dutchlaps and Triple 3 only. Check the colour and profile pair before you order.

Windload ratings are 160 mph (257 km/h) for the .042 in. profiles and 155 mph (249 km/h) for Triple 3. The siding holds CCMC Acceptance No. 06419L. Panels can move up to 3/8 in. with temperature, so leave 1/4 in. at openings and channel stops (3/8 in. when installing below 40°F) and nail in the centre of the slot.
