Installation Guide
GLASS: Triple-glazed units use a 3/3/3 mm glass configuration with a total IG unit thickness (OD) of 1.36 in. Both air spaces are argon-filled. Interior glazing is available for mulled configurations.
CASEMENT OPERATION: Open the window to its full open position to access both interior and exterior glass surfaces for cleaning from inside. The sash will lock even if not fully closed — close snugly and engage locks; the multi-point locks will pull the sash tighter against the weatherstripping. On casements with two locks, always engage the bottom lock before the top lock.
HARDWARE LUBRICATION: Apply a light coating of silicone lubricant on track and pivot points annually. Avoid petroleum-based lubricants (oil, petroleum jelly) — they stay wet and attract dirt. Areas with coastal or high-dust environments require more frequent cleaning and lubrication.
HORIZONTAL SLIDER ROLLERS: Non-marking tandem rollers (two sets) provide smooth, quiet operation. Steel reinforcement on the pull rail and interlock adds structural integrity. Anti-lift sash security feature prevents the sash from being lifted out.
SCREENS: Two screen retention types are used — pull-tabs (held by leaf springs) and plungers. For pull-tab screens: hold both tabs and pull gently, then tilt toward you. For plunger screens: pull plungers on one side, then the opposite side, and tilt. Screens are for insect protection only — not for safety protection.
CLEANING GLASS: Use mild soap and water with a soft cloth. For exterior glass on casement windows, open sash to full open position and clean from inside. Refer to the Ply Gem Comfort Series Cleaning Procedures guide for full instructions.
