The Ply Gem Design Series delivers premium aluminum aesthetics with the durability and low maintenance of vinyl. Featuring fully extruded aluminum exterior cladding in 11 colours — with Kynar®-based Enhanced Colour Protection on darker finishes — and white or beige vinyl interiors, the Design Series suits every architectural style. Available through Mitten Building Products and stocked at Pro Materials, the Design Series covers casement, awning, horizontal slider, single hung, fixed, and specialty shape configurations. Both double-glazed (DG1) and triple-glazed (TG1/TG2) options are available, with TG2 Eco Shield and Eco Max Shield glass qualifying for ENERGY STAR® across all three Canadian climate zones.

GLAZING: Design Series windows are available in DG1 (double-glazed, OD = 0.75 in., one argon-filled air space) or TG1/TG2 (triple-glazed, OD = 1.36 in., two argon-filled air spaces). Direct Set windows use OD = 1.00 in. for DG1 — different from other window types.
ALUMINUM CLADDING: Fully extruded aluminum cladding is available in 11 exterior colours: White, Cashmere, Beige, Clear Anodized, Slate Grey, Sable, Taupe, Hunter Green, Redwood, Brown, and Black. Darker colours (Beige, Slate Grey, Taupe, Hunter Green, Redwood, Brown, Black) include Enhanced Colour Protection (ECP) — a Kynar®-based acrofluor coating that resists fading and chalking.
CASEMENT OPERATION: The concealed multi-point lock seals the sash at multiple points with a single lever — always close the sash snugly first, then engage the lock to pull it tight against the weatherstripping. Open fully to clean both glass surfaces from inside.
SINGLE HUNG OPERATION: Spring balances hold the lower sash open at any height. Steel reinforcement in the top pull rail adds structural integrity. The upper sash is fixed; only the lower sash operates.
HORIZONTAL SLIDER OPERATION: Sliders run on non-marking rollers. Tri-Fin weatherstripping on the operating sash prevents drafts, dust and moisture. Centre-mounted knife latch lock with anti-lift security feature prevents the sash from being lifted out.
JAMB LINERS: Available in vinyl, foam-filled PVC, hem fir, oak, or pre-primed wood to fit all wall depths. Drywall return channel available in 1/2" and 3/4" sizes for drywall or plywood interior jamb applications.
