Premium 3-ply non-woven, non-perforated housewrap engineered for extreme jobsite durability. CCMC Dual Certified as both a certified air barrier and certified drainage material — 93% drainage plane efficiency (ASTM E-2773). Outstanding tear resistance (12 lbs MD / 10 lbs CD trap tear), excellent tape adhesion, and a 59-Perm vapour transmission rating — ideal for Canadian climate conditions. Air leakage < 0.001 L/s/m² (ASTM E-2178). Covered by a Lifetime Limited Warranty (50 years; full labour and replacement for first 10 years). Distributed through EPAK: 1-800-665-8083.

Installation Guide

WEATHER BARRIER — HomeGuard Housewrap functions as a secondary weather resistive barrier behind exterior cladding. It protects wall assemblies from air infiltration and bulk water intrusion while allowing moisture vapour to escape, helping prevent mold and mildew in wall cavities. Install behind all exterior cladding types as per HomeGuard written installation guidelines.
VAPOUR PERMEABILITY — A higher perm number means more vapour permeable. The benchmark for a Type II residential vapour barrier is 1 Perm (US) or 60 Ng (Canadian). HomeGuard Woven is rated 15 Perms; HomeGuard Titan is rated 59 Perms — Titan's rating is described as ideal for Canadian climate conditions where moisture management in wall assemblies is critical.
DRAINAGE PLANE — HomeGuard Titan Protective Housewrap is CCMC Dual Certified (14071-R + 14099-R) as both an air barrier and a certified drainage material. Every home should have a drainage plane behind the exterior cladding to redirect bulk water that penetrates the finish down and away from the wall assembly. Titan passes ASTM E-2773 at 93% drainage efficiency (minimum 90%).
OVERLAPS & SEAMS — Install housewrap shingle-fashion, working from the bottom up to ensure laps shed water. Overlap horizontal seams to direct water away from the wall assembly. Seal all seams, penetrations, and edges at windows and doors with HomeGuard Seam Tape or compatible tape to maintain the continuous air barrier.
WINDOW & DOOR OPENINGS — Use HomeGuard Butyl Flashing or Synthetic Flashing at window and door rough openings to provide a continuous air and weather-tight seal at all frame perimeters. When using Titan with HomeGuard Synthetic Flashing and Seam Tape as a complete system, the assembly is covered under the Lifetime Limited Warranty.
UV EXPOSURE — HomeGuard Woven Housewrap is rated for a minimum of 120 days UV exposure (per product label and AC38 Section 4.1.2); the Technical Q&A (2022) states both products have additional UV inhibitor providing 180+ days of protection. Cover with exterior cladding as soon as practical — do not leave exposed beyond the rated period as UV degradation affects performance.
FASTENING — Attach housewrap using cap nails, button cap fasteners, or staples approved for housewrap installation. Fasten along stud lines at regular intervals and increase fastening frequency around windows, doors, and all edges. Follow local building code requirements for minimum fastener spacing.
STORAGE — Store rolls in original packaging in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight. Protect from moisture and prolonged UV exposure before installation.
