Installation Guide

  1. SURFACE PREPARATION — Apply only to surfaces free from oil, grease, wax, dust, corrosion, moisture, and any material that may interfere with adhesion. No primer is required on any substrate. Do not apply below 4°C (40°F). Do not apply to surfaces continuously immersed in water.

  2. CONCRETE & MASONRY — Fresh concrete must be fully cured and dried (allow 3–4 weeks). Blow or brush dusty surfaces clean. Remove all mold release agents and curing agents. If previously exposed to oil-based caulking, remove all material and sandblast or cut back to remove oil penetration.

  3. ALUMINUM & STEEL — Aluminum: remove protective lacquer film with clean lacquer thinner; remove all previous compounds or surface oxidation via chemical treatment, solvent, sandblasting, or wire brushing. Steel: remove all corrosion and coatings by chemical treatment, solvent, sandblasting, or wire brushing; rinse thoroughly after chemical treatment.

  4. GLASS, FIBERGLASS & WOOD — Glass/Fiberglass: wipe surfaces with clean, oil-free solvent and dry thoroughly. Wood: remove all paint and loose coatings; sand to a good clean surface. No primer required, even on oily woods such as teak.

  5. BACK-UP MATERIAL & JOINT SIZE — Use in joint openings from 3mm × 3mm to 12.7mm × 12.7mm (1/8" × 1/8" to 1/2" × 1/2"). When openings are deeper than desired, pack with backer rod joint filler before applying sealant.

  6. APPLICATION — Mask adjacent surfaces with tape for a neat joint. Apply from the bottom of the joint upward, filling completely and avoiding entrapped air. Tool the surface immediately for appearance and to ensure full adhesion to joint sides — dry tooling or tooling with Toluol or Xylol preferred. Remove masking tape immediately after tooling is complete.

  7. CLEAN-UP & STORAGE — Clean tools and equipment with Toluol, Xylol, or mineral spirits before sealant cures. Clean skin with waterless hand cleaner. Store cartridges in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area with containers tightly closed. Protect from extreme temperatures. Shelf life: 12 months.

  8. LIMITATIONS & CAUTION — Do not use on insulated glass panels, laminated glass edges, or polystyrene. Not for interior use. Direct contact with asphalt-based materials may cause bleed-through or staining. FLAMMABLE — keep away from heat, sparks, and open flame. Provide adequate ventilation. Avoid inhalation of vapours and contact with eyes and skin. Keep out of reach of children.
